Reaching out to the Unreached!
This "Exhibition on the wheels" was conceived to reach out to a wider section of the Society, especially rural population, to inculcate scientific temper in the masses. Reaching out to the doorsteps of rural population, the mobile exhibition provides information on how science and technology benefits our lives and contributes to human development while explaining complex scientific concepts in simplistic terms.
The idea behind mobile science exhibition is primarily to dispel superstitions and motivate youth to take up careers in the field of science and technology. the project intends to raise awareness about sustainable development using the benefits of science and sensitize people about emerging and challenging issues. Fitted with interactive exhibits run on solar energy, a mobile inflatable dome planetarium, night sky watching facility and facilities for science experiments for demonstration in rural impoverished schools. MSE has recorded a footfall of about 1.00 lakh visitors every year. To extend our social outreach and contribute towards society in a significant way, the Mobile Science Exhibition will cover all blocks in all districts of the state. It is available in schools during working hours and is open to the general public in the evenings. It covers schools and villages within 10-15 km radius from its place of location.
