Pushpa Gujral Science City organized one day Workshop "Hands on activities in Mathematics" on January 04, 2020 to celebrate National Mathematics’ Day 2019. The objective of the event was to inculcate interest of the students in Mathematics.
Sh. Gurmeet Singh, Science teacher from Government High School, Mehtan, who has developed and patented many math learning kits was the resource person at the occasion.
He demonstrated practical verification of various math’s formula, Pythagoras theorem, triangle properties through kits. Students learnt to make their own math kits using scale and cardboard. Further, he also conducted origami activity through which students learnt how to solve mathematical equations using paper folding techniques. The participants took keen interest in the workshop and learnt mathematics formulas without cramming. 50 students and teachers from different private and Government schools participated in this workshop.
