World Health Day is celebrated every year on April 7th, the founding date of the World Health Organization (WHO). The theme for World Health Day-2024 was “My Health, My Right”, focusing on the fundamental human right to access quality healthcare, education, and information. Around the world, the right to health of millions is increasingly coming under threat. Diseases and disasters loom large as causes of death and disability. Conflicts are devastating lives, causing death, pain, hunger and psychological distress. PGSC observed the day by organizing a talk on mental health. Dr. Himanshu Sareen, Head, Psychiatry Department, Punjab Institute of Medical Science was the resource person. Dr. Sareen talked on “Focusing on Mental health: How to reduce Stress?” He provided invaluable insights and practical guidance on navigating the challenges of stress in today’s fast-paced world, particularly targeting the younger generation. 120 students and teachers participated in the event.
