Pushpa Gujral Science City organized a one day webinar on July 14, 2020 to sensitize students and teachers about Inspire awards- MANAK scheme of Department of Science & Technology, GOI. The objective of the event was to raise awareness as well as inculcate culture of innovation and creativity among young students of Punjab.
More than 200 students and teachers participated in the webinar including 100 participants through PGSC’s You tube link. Director General, Science City, Dr. Neelima Jerath in her welcome address said that it is very important to develop culture of innovation in the young minds and prepare them to meet challenges ahead through new technologies like internet of things, Artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation. Dr. Sanjay Mishra, Advisor, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India & Head INSPIRE-MANAK in his opening remarks stressed on the need to motivate participation of students from Punjab in this scheme. On this occasion, Er. Ritesh Pathak, Scientist D, PGSC apprised students and teachers about INSPIRE scheme, registration procedure for schools on E-MIAS (E-Management of INSPIRE Awards MANAK Scheme) portal and steps to upload innovative ideas on the portal. Further, Dr. Sandeep Bansal, Programme Coordinator INSPIRE , DST, GOI answered the queries of the participants.
