Van Mahotsava is an annual tree planting festival in the month of July. During this festival thousand of trees are planted all over India. The festival educates the awareness of trees among people and portrays the need of planting and tending of trees, as trees are one of the best ways to prevent global warming and reduce pollution.
Pushpa Gujral science City in association with Department of Forests & Wild life preservation, Punjab celebrated this event by organising "Plant a Tree & Send us the Picture" competition and Webinar on theme Sustainable Forest management : relevance in Contemporary times.
Mr. Kunal Satyarthi, IFS, Principal of Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS), MoEFCC, Govt. of India, Dehradun was the expert speaker for the webinar.
