Pushpa Gujral Science City Organized ‘International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking’ on June 26, 2024 to create awareness about the threat of drug abuse. The theme of this year was “The evidence is clear: invest in prevention” calls on communities and policymakers to adopt an evidence –based approach to prevention.
Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Kapurthala was the key speaker on this occasion. She said that the prijmary objective of event was to raise awareness about drug abuse and educate the younger generation through Nukkad natak. She urged all parents to protect their children from the dangers of drugs and to provide them with a safe and supportive environment.
Dr. Munish Soin Coordinator of the program said that tackling drug trafficking and drug abuse is a shared responsibility, with both governments and communities playing vital roles. He stressed that drug abuse not only poses a threat to individuals but also has severe repercussions on families and society as a whole.
Team members of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Kapurthala performed Nukkad-Natak to create awareness on how we should deal with people who use drugs and face discrimination.
