Charles Darwin, the English naturalist whose scientific theory of evolution by natural selection became the foundation of modern evolutionary studies, is considered the father of evolution. Darwin’s evolutionary theory, despite many contradictions later, gave the most rational explanation of the formation of new species then. To commemorate his birth anniversary, a talk on “Darwin’s Voyage of Discovery and Natural Selection”. Dr. Loveleen Kaur Brar was the resource person on this occasion. Dr. Brar discussed how Darwin’s experiences and observations the HMS Beagle helped him develop the theory of evolution through natural selection. & a Caption Contest was organized. >80 students participated.
