19^th and 20^th All Breed Dog Show 2025

Pushpa Gujral Science City Kapurthala organized 19^th and 20th All Breed Dog show along with German Shepherd Specialty Show on on January 26, 2025, with the objective to raise awareness in society about domesticated biodiversity, particularly focusing on various dog breeds. The event attracted exhibitors from all over Punjab and beyond. Over 140 dogs comprising 30 breeds participated in the dog show. Owners of dogs from Punjab and other states exhibited their pets and their skills during the show. 15 stalls related to dog foods and dog medicines were set up on this occasion.

Dr. Manish Kumar, IFS, Director General of Science City, conveyed a message stating that domesticated animals and plants form a critical part of human civilization and culture. This invaluable gene pool has been promoted, conserved, and utilized by humans, particularly the domesticated faunal gene pool, as several breeds are used for working, sporting, herding, hunting, and even as pets.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Munish Soin, Scientist D and Program Coordinator at Science City, emphasized the need to raise awareness in society about faunal biodiversity, with a focus on the salient features of various dog breeds.

The judges of the show were Sh. A I S Bhinder from Amritsar, Dr. Himanshu Vyas from Udaipur, and Sh. Rajeev Chaudhary from Ghaziabad. Additionally, KCI dog registration camps was also organized by Sh. H. S. Aulakh from Chandigarh and Dr. Ankit Chhibber from Kotkapura during the show. All winners were awarded cash prizes and trophies by the respective judges.
